Frequently Asked Questions

Cash-based physical therapy means that we are not in-network with any insurance providers, so patients pay up-front and out of pocket for all services. We are happy to provide a super-bill that you can submit to your insurance company to potentially receive reimbursement at the out-of-network rate, though you must confirm all benefits with your own insurance provider.

Insurance companies reimburse at low rates and create a large administrative burden for PTs that require clinics to see a large volume of patients. This means that a PT might be seeing multiple patients at a time, and each visit may only be able to pay full attention to each patient for a few minutes.
At Buena Vista Physical Therapy, you get your therapist’s full attention for the entirety of your visit. You also have access to a messaging feature in our app if you have questions or concerns between visits, so you get significantly more for your money with each visit. In fact, most people end up requiring fewer visits overall, and could end up spending less out of pocket than they would on copays at a busy clinic.
-
We are able to accept payment via credit and debit card, as well as via Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Cash or check can be accepted as well.
-
No! The state of Colorado allows full direct access for physical therapy, meaning you can see a physical therapist at any time without a referral from another practitioner.
Some insurance companies would require a referral despite the state law. Buena Vista Physical Therapy is a cash-based operation, so these requirements would not prevent you from seeing us for PT. If you plan to submit for reimbursement, however, you need to check with your insurance company to ensure they do not require a referral.
Please note that due to insurance company regulations, we cannot see patients with Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare coverage, even for cash-pay services. -

Tiffany and Buena Vista Physical Therapy have no relationship with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare. Those entities mandate that physical therapist cannot accept cash payment for services that are typically covered by your plan. As a provider that does not bill insurance at all, we are not allowed to provide physical therapy services even if we would not bill insurance.
Tiffany does offer wellness and yoga therapy services that are not covered by Medicare/Medicaid/Tricare, and you can find information about those services HERE or reach out so Tiffany can help you determine if these services would be right for you.

If you are a current client, the best way to reach your therapist is through the Jane app messaging system. We have to use a HIPAA-compliant platform to discuss any health or care-related topics.
Otherwise, you can reach out using our contact form, by email at hello@bvphysio.com, or call us at 719-677-8127.
We aim to respond within one business day, though this is a one-person operation, so if Tiffany is off adventuring in the mountains somewhere it might take a little longer!
